Welcome

Learn Greenlandic – good for you and your community!

  1. You can use Learn Greenlandic with Per Langgård for free but you cannot learn Greenlandic without a network. Make sure you have at least one person to learn alongside with.
  2. Start from the top. The service contains all lessons and material needed for 500 hours of structured progression.
  3. Prioritize 2-3 hours weekly for individual learning, and another 2-3 hours for group learning.
  4. After a year or so you will have invested about 300 working hours. You will then have a small lexicon and some of the principles in word formation under your skin. You will then more and more often experience the small successes when you actually understand so many bits and pieces of language in the real world in Greenland that you will have the surplus to isolate and learn parts of the language still unknown to you. When you are there your acquisition will grow exponentially and after another year you will find yourself among the few permille of non-Greenlanders who can communicate meaningfully in the real world of Greenland.
  5. Tutorials

Learn Greenlandic with Per Langgård is designed for self-study but formal networks and structured work routines strengthen acquisition for the vast majority of learners. A tutorial is an offer of an acquisition process according to a preset progression plan with a tutor at hand. A tutor is a student who completed at least one year of study with good results. Tutors invite to and partake as resource-person in the online meetings and they make sure that meetings are streamed and distributed to all students. Per Langgård will if needed join the group meetings ad hoc.

Tutorials are formed when at least 8 students enroll. The beginners’ tutorial runs for one weekly meeting for 14 weeks (including holidays) and the tutorial for intermediate students runs for 24 weeks with an online meeting every second week. Formal exams can be arranged after tutorials for students who need/want formal tests.

A fee of 1.200 DKK will be charged for membership of the study networks and access to the streams of the online meetings. For individual examination and issuing of diploma a fee of 500 DKK will be charged.
